Six Years!

On Saturday, Rich and I celebrated our Sixth Wedding Anniversary! We decided to take turns planning each year, and this was my year...and I did a pretty great job! I decided to make us dinner and eat it in the candle light. He sent me flowers, my favorite flowers, our wedding flowers, yellow gerber daisies, they were beautiful, so I used them as our centerpiece and used yellow candles. I made a fatoush salad (greek and his favorite), cheddar potatoes, breadsticks, and a 12 oz new york strip stake grilled perfectly on grill! Then for dessert we had a chocolate truffle cake! Then after dinner we wrote each other a love note and read them out loud. Rich's letter was beautiful, I love him so much! And the rest, I don't want to share! It was a wonder evening. I am thankful that we take the time to really love one another!

The Glenn Beck Prayer

I think that most of you know that we like Glenn Beck. We listen to his 3 hour radio show when we can and we watch his TV show every night. And we got to meet him in Jupiter FL when he was on his book tour and got our book signed by him! It was so fun! Well, yesterday Dallin told me that he wanted to go see Glenn Beck again and I told him we couldn't because he lives far away in New York. So, last night when we were saying family prayer, Dallin really wanted to pray. So, Daddy called on him and he said the prayer like he usually does. He usually says basically the same prayer, but lately he has changed this up a bit. And last night he prayed that WE WOULD ALWAYS GET TO WATCH GLENN BECK! What have we done to our child. Most kids want to see Elmo, Buzz Lightyear, or Disney characters but no ours wants to see crazy conservative Glenn Beck!

Three Generations of Motherhood!

"Motherhood is near to divinity. It is the highest holiest service to be assumed by mankind. It places her who honor its holy calling and service next to the angels." James R. Clark

Jillie's New Blanket!

When I was little my mom worked at a garment factory and she learned to do a lot with the sewing machine. Some of her best stuff is bags, purses, and blankets. So, Jillie likes to play with her baby a lot and I gave her a dish towel to use as a baby blanket. Then I was talking to mom and she was making a blanket and so I asked her to make a baby blanket for Jillian's baby. Well, I got a package from her a couple of days ago and not only did she make Jillie's baby a blanket, she made it a matching pillow and she also made Jillian a matching blanket and pillow. It is so adorable!

Yummie, Cashew Chicken!

This is Cashew Chicken and it is only found in the southwest corner of Missouri. I grew up eating it all the time and everytime I go back to Missouri...getting cashew chicken is one of the most important thing I have to do! I have lived in 6 different states and no chinese place has heard of it. Well, I was really craving it and I thought, I can make it myself. So I googgled cashew sauce and guess what came up...SPRINGFIELD MISSOURI CASHEW CHICKEN RECIPE! So, I made it and it was perfect!

Batman Girl!

Jillie is so perfect. She is all girl but at the same time she wants to be just like her brother! This morning she was following me around at kept saying "matmans". I didn't know what she was saying and when I looked at her she had Dallins batman costume...so I put it on her. Then she started running around the house saying "matmans"!
