Our Growing Boy!

Last week Luke turned two months old. It is going by too fast. His eyes follow you around now and he is smiling and laughing a lot more. He knows when Dallin or Jillian are talking to him, so he smiles at them. He likes that. And they think that's pretty awesome. He loves his bath especially when I take him out of the bath seat and lay him in the water to float!
At his two month check up the doctor said he looks good and healthy! They actually wanted to give him 7 different vaccines. One by mouth and 3 in the legs. But one of them was a combination shot of 3 different viruses. You would have to be crazy to think that I'm going to allow you to inject 7 different live viruses into my 8 week old baby!!! Why do they want so many done at once. They have five years to get these vaccines done before school but they want to force them into two years! It's crazy. So Luke got one vaccine in each leg. He will go back next month to get the other big combination. I only do that one by itself. Anyways here's how he has grown:
Birth day: Weight 9 lbs 2 oz, Length 20 in., Head 14 1/4 10 Days: Weight 10 lbs, Length 22 1/4 in., Head 14 1/2 2 Months: Weight 14 lbs 12 oz, Length 25 1/4 Head 15 3/4
He is in the 95% for weight and height!
FYI for future mom's: If your baby has cradle cap, I have found the best solution to moisturize it! I remember I did this for Dallin when he was a baby and it worked and it has worked on Luke as well. Luke had it so bad I wish I would have taken a before picture. All you have to do is rub olive oil into the scalp and rinse!

12 Days of Christmas

I recieved the following in an email, thought it was interesting!

There is one Christmas Carol that has always baffled me. What in the world do leaping lords, French hens, swimming swans, and especially the partridge who won't come out of the pear tree have to do with Christmas? This week, I found out. From 1558 until 1829, Roman Catholics in England were not permitted to practice their faith openly. Someone during that era wrote this carol as a catechism song for young Catholics. It has two levels of meaning: the surface meaning plus a hidden meaning known only to members of their church. Each element in the carol has a code word for a religious reality which the children could remember.

-The partridge in a pear tree was Jesus Christ.

-Two turtle doves were the Old and New Testaments.

-Three French hens stood for faith, hope and love.-

-The four calling birds were the four gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke & John.

-The five golden rings recalled the Torah or Law, the first five books of the Old Testament.

-The six geese a-laying stood for the six days of creation.

-Seven swans a-swimming represented the sevenfold gifts of the Holy Spirit--Prophesy, Serving, Teaching, Exhortation, Contribution, Leadership, and Mercy.

-The eight maids a-milking were the eight beatitudes.

-Nine ladies dancing were the nine fruits of the Holy Spirit--Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness, and Self Control.

-The ten lords a-leaping were the ten commandments.

-The eleven pipers piping stood for the eleven faithful disciples.

-The twelve drummers drumming symbolized the twelve points of belief in the Apostles' Creed.

So there is your history for today. This knowledge was shared with me and I found it interesting and enlightening and now I know how that strange song became a Christmas Carol...so pass it on if you wish.' Merry Christmas Everyone

Luke's Pictures at Six Weeks Old

This picture of Luke is my favorite. He looks like he is the King or a Sumo wrestler! He was so relaxed during the session. And we did get a couple of smiles out of him!
Luke smiling in his blessing outfit that he will hopefully still fit in when we bless him soon.

Luke blowing bubbles! Which he does a lot but it better than a drool!

Luke just lounging out in his fancy suit!
