I am a Christian!

Christians By Maya Angelou
A woman's heart should be so hidden in Christ That a man should have to seek Him first to find her.'
When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not shouting 'I'm clean livin'' I'm whispering 'I was lost, Now I'm found and forgiven.'
When I say... 'I am a Christian' I don't speak of this with pride. I'm confessing that I stumble and need Christ to be my guide.
When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not trying to be strong. I'm professing that I'm weak and need His strength to carry on.
When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not bragging of success. I'm admitting I have failed and need God to clean my mess.
When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not claiming to be perfect, My flaws are far too visible but, God believes I am worth it.
When I say... 'I am a Christian' I still feel the sting of pain.. I have my share of heartaches, so I call upon His name.
When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not holier than thou, I'm just a simple sinner Who received God's good grace, somehow

My friend Lisa sent this to me and I had to share it!

Happy 7th Birthday Leanne!

On Sunday January 18th 2009, we celebrated Leanne's 7th Birthday with rainbow cupcake birthday cake at her request. She wanted funfetti cake with rainbow frosting and it wasn't easy making seven different icing colors! And her other request was to put on her own candles! Everyone looked quite funny with all the different colors on their mouth and teeth! Jillie couldn't even hold hers so she just licked the top.
On the day before we invited her best friend from church to go mini golfing with us. When we got there they also had four bounce houses that they got to jump and slide in, never running out of energy and then we went and got ice cream and frenchfries! But, my batteries were exhausted(don't you love new technology) when we got there, so I did not get any pictures that day!

In Loving Memory of Kevin E. Jones

Kevin E. Jones born on January 27,1960 entered into eternal rest January 8,2009.
Kevin Jones is my brother's best friend and a friend and ex-boss of mine. He and his family moved to Stuart when Walgreens transfer him from San Fransisco. Where Jeremy met him and when I moved to Florida, Jeremy got me a job at Walgreens where Kevin was my boss. Not knowing anyone buy my brother, Jeremy and I were adopted by Kevin and his wife Sharon and two children Kristin and Brandon. They would feed us and we play many games with us. Kevin always like to tease us about being Mormon, especially since Jeremy and my lifestyles are completely opposite! Kevin was very smart, organized and was always smiling. He was not a religious man but he had a wonderful spirit. He had a gift for making people feel warm and welcome! He will be greatly missed.
Cancer took his life too soon. The day he found out that he had cancer he wrote the following:
"Life is full of very emotional moments, but the window to experience those moments is only open for a short time. If you don't reach out and experience those moments before the window closes, you'll never get another chance."

Dallin's First Day of School!

On January 5th 2008, Dallin started Pre-K! We felt like he needed to get use to sitting in a classroom and learning from someone other than mommy! The first day went great and I was shocked! I expected Dallin to be very shy, maybe cry, and cling, but he just smiled and walked in! When I pick him up his teachers said he had a great day and he was a very good listener! We are so proud of him!

Christmas 2008!

This year for Christmas my mom came down and we had few busy first days with getting Dallin's Birthday ready and getting all of the Christmas shopping done, but we made it and had a great Christmas with our friends and family. On Christmas Eve night the kids opened their Christmas pajamas from Papa and Meme and they also got to open one new Christmas book each. A new tradition we started this year so we could build up our Christmas books. Then next year we can read Christmas books each night until Christmas. And we put out a cookie, milk, and carrots for Santa and the Reindeer and headed to bed. On Christmas morning we had to wake up the kids when Mema and Uncle Brent got here. It was neat having Nana and Mema with us, because after we opened presents and relaxed a little, Rich and I got to go on a date! We went to the movies and watched Four Christmas, it was fun. When we got home, mom and me (mostly mom) started getting Christmas dinner ready. We invited the Melin's friends from church, Millie a friend and snow bird from NY, Aunt Stacey, Laura and her mother Mary, Uncle Brent and Mema. We had the best dinner and dessert! Our little family has been so blessed this last year and love this time to celebrate our Savior's Birth!

New Years Camping!

This year for New Years we went camping with friends at the Savanna Recreation Area in Ft. Pierce with the gators, really! (see pictures below) We welcomed the New Year cozy around a campfire...I realized I had stayed up for 21.5 because I took my mom to the airport at 4:00a.m. and stayed up until 1:30 a.m. I tried to go to sleep shortly after the New Year rolled in but I couldn't sleep, my mind kept wondering if not one, not two, but three gators were going to get us! And staying up that late really took it's toll on me, it felt like I had partied hard all night and it took a couple of days to recover. The only affect it had on the kids is crankiness with energy! But it was all worth it, the kids had the best time playing with nature all night with their friends. We cooked dinner and when it got dark we roasted marshmallows and made smores...the kids even got to do their own roasting! Tucker's parents brought the kids sparklers to help celebrate the New Year! After a long night, I got up and cooked pancakes and Abby cooked bacon and eggs! Then the kids favorite part was trying out their new fishing polls they had recieved for Christmas. They wanted to catch a fish so bad, but I think the gators ate them all! When we were cleaning up and getting ready to leave, Dallin was playing with the water nozzle. He was turning it and turning until it pop off and water came shooting out like a fire hydrate. Thankfully we had Tucker the fire fighter and Jess to twist it back on. But I wish I could have gotten a picture of it because by the time they had it back on they were soaked! We all had a great time and look forward to keeping this tradition!

Happy 5th Birthday Dallin!

On December 23rd, we celebrated Dallin's 5th Birthday! He had his party at Chuck E Cheese with an Army birthday party! He got to invited all of his friends and a bonus of having Nana here with us. They danced on the stage, played games, and ate cake! The cake is suppose to be army guys on grass and mud with water in the middle. The water is all frosting, so all of the kids wanted that part of the cake. And Chuck E Cheese came in person and hugged everyone. Dallin was a little scared of him so I had to stand with him. We had a great night! Dallin's Army Birthday Cake!
